Random browsing on the Oopbuy spreadsheet produces random results. The filter funnel method structures every session into three narrowing stages — 20 candidates in, 3 cart-adds out.
Stage 1: Wide capture (20 candidates)
Browse three categories in a single session. Screenshot every listing that catches your eye. Aim for around 20 candidates — no strict cap, but a rough target keeps the session bounded.
Stage 2: First cut (down to 8)
Immediately after browsing, review your screenshots. Delete anything that fails on obvious grounds:
- Wrong colorway for your rotation.
- Wrong season.
- Duplicate of something you already own.
- Above your session budget.
You should be down to about 8 candidates.

Stage 3: QC filter (down to 3)
Run each remaining candidate through the QC finder. Apply the ruthless reject rule. Anything failing QC drops off. You should be at 3 to 5 candidates.
Stage 4: Cart with intent
Add the final 3 candidates to cart. Wait for warehouse weight to hit the sweet spot (1.2 to 3 kg with 3+ items). Ship with the current coupon.
Why the funnel works
- Wide capture reduces FOMO — you looked at everything.
- First cut catches obvious mismatches before QC review time is spent.
- QC filter is the objective quality gate.
- Cart with intent means every item was consciously chosen, not impulsively grabbed.
Frequency
Run the funnel once per week. Not daily. The sheet updates weekly, and your warehouse consolidates on a similar cadence.
Time investment
About 45 minutes: 15 minutes wide capture, 5 minutes first cut, 20 minutes QC review, 5 minutes cart.
Companion reads
Beginners: layer the confidence-building path. Advanced: add the edge list.
